FAQ

Q: What is happening with Dominatrix?

A: We finished the series, but before the fourth issue was released, Opus Comics began a “restructuring” in response to payment complaints (which were completely warranted). Opus closed its web store and warehouse, orphaning all the comics I (and lots of other people) worked really hard on, including the “Frazettaverse” titles (Death Dealer, Dawn Attack, Mothman, and Tales of Science Fantasy). All of those are frozen as well, as far as I know.

Unfortunately, I have no information as to when the fourth issue will come out, if at all. Maybe after everything blows over, a collected trade paperback will be released with the complete story. It’s all in a holding pattern, which is not uncommon for independent comics, but no less disappointing.

Q: Can you contact Opus/Incendium about my order or get me a refund?

A: No.

Q: What happened with all the American Gothic Press titles?

A: They are currently out of print. The rights still belong to the former publisher of Famous Monsters of Filmland; however, that company is under new ownership, so contacting them won’t get you anywhere. Depending on how legal matters resolve themselves, I may be able to make a few PDFs available.

The rights to Lost in Space, including the classic episodes, are owned by Legendary, so if my classic adaptations were to see print again, it would be through them, I would think.

Q: What happened with Famous Monsters?

A: It’s under new ownership! They’ve held several conventions and a film festival so far. Sadly, I’m not involved with this incarnation.

More to come.
